This is made possible by the Marshall Islands‘ and Europe’s visa waiver agreement.

Citizens from countries with visa waiver arrangements with Europe will soon be asked to register online for a travel authorization ETIAS, which will go into effect in November 2023.

Important Reminder: It is recommended that the data supplied in the ETIAS application form for Marshallese citizens match exactly with the data written on the citizen’s passport. Marshallese nationals will thereafter be required to answer security and health questions as well as give contact information.

Every entry and exit in the Schengen Area will be recorded in the Entry/Exit System (EES) that is being implemented alongside the ETIAS travel authorisation. It is very important for Marshallese ETIAS holders to ensure they do not exceed the allotted 90 days within the Schengen Area.

The ETIAS travel authorization for Europe is a multiple entrance permit that allows Marshallese people to enter member countries several times as long as they do not remain longer than the authorised period.

Once granted, Marshallese nationals‘ ETIAS will be valid for three years or until the passport used in the application form expires, whichever comes first.

Due to dual citizenship, Marshallese passport holders who have more than one valid passport must:

The ETIAS travel authorisation is valid for 3 years as long as the Marshallese passport used during the application process remains current.

A Marshallese citizen whose passport expires while their ETIAS is still within 3 years of having been issued will need to request a new ETIAS travel authorisation using the details of their new passport.

The ETIAS permits Marshallese passport holders to visit all Schengen member countries for business purposes for up to 90 days in each 180-day period.
