Mauritian citizens having ETIAS will be entitled to stay in the Schengen Zone for up to 90 days in a 180-day period.

Once authorised, ETIAS is valid for three years from the date of issue. ETIAS will allow Mauritanians to travel to Europe many times. The passport used on the ETIAS application must be the same one used while travelling to any Schengen nation.

Mauritian nationals who desire to remain in a Schengen country for longer than 90 days must apply for a visa. The ETIAS visa waiver allows for a maximum stay of 90 days in any 6-month period.

Travellers must keep in mind that if the passport expires before the end of the validity of the ETIAS, they must reapply for ETIAS.

Mauritanian citizens who want to work in Europe must first get a work visa or work permit.

The ETIAS visa waiver allows its user to enter the Schengen Area for short periods of time, but it does not allow foreign citizens to work in the zone. Working in Europe with a Mauritius ETIAS document could result in the revocation of the ETIAS.

ETIAS is valid for short business travels such as meetings and conferences.

Mauritian nationals can get a student visa to study in Europe. ETIAS does not allow students to study in the Schengen Area. The visa waiver allows the holder to stay for a maximum of 90 days. If a Mauritian citizen intends to continue their study in a Schengen country, they must contact the embassy or consulate and provide supplementary documentation.

Applicants seeking a student visa may be required to demonstrate that they have adequate means to maintain their stay. They will also most likely be required to provide an admission letter from a school or institution, as well as proof of medical insurance.

ETIAS for Mauritians can be used to attend short leisure courses in Europe, such as language or cooking classes. The maximum stay is 90 days in a 180-day period.
