Yes, citizens of Trinidad and Tobago can travel to Europe without a visa for short periods of time for tourism, business, or transit. ETIAS will be available for visa-free travel from Trinidad and Tobago to Europe beginning in late 2023.

An approved ETIAS electronic visa waiver for Trinidadians is a multiple entry authorization that allows the holder to spend up to 90 days in the Schengen Area with each entry within a 180-day period.

Travelers do not need to apply for an ETIAS from Trinidad and Tobago before each trip to Europe because it is valid for three years from the date of issue.

A Trinidad and Tobago ETIAS visa waiver allows the holder to travel to the Schengen zone for tourism, business, or transit to another destination.

Trinidadians who want to work in Europe cannot do so with an ETIAS. Working in Europe with a Trinidadian ETIAS could result in the visa waiver being revoked.

Citizens of Trinidad and Tobago who want to work in Europe must apply for a national visa or work permit from the embassy or consulate of the Schengen country they intend to visit.

For Trinidadians, studying in Europe with an ETIAS is not an option. Studying in the Schengen Area nullifies the ETIAS travel document’s agreed-upon conditions at the time of application.

If Trinidadians and Tobagonians attempt to study with an ETIAS, their visa waiver may be revoked.

To study in Europe from Trinidad and Tobago, the applicant must apply for a study visa from the diplomatic office of the individual European country to which the applicant wishes to travel.

ETIAS can be used for short recreational courses, such as language courses that last no longer than three months.
